CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 - An often misunderstood law, this act relates to US standards established in 2003 regulating commercial email. Enforced by the FTC. CMS is short for Content Management System. This is an installed software platform that lays on top of your hosting site to provide functionality out of the box. WordPress currently holds the top spot as leading Content Management System, with other strong contenders including Drupal and Joomla. There are also crossovers between Shopping Cart platforms and CMS platforms like PrestaShop, Magento and more. CMS has become a widely accepted means of shortcutting the development process. No longer does a site owner have to pay for development of standard functionality since it comes out of the box with most Content Management Systems.
Cold List
Individuals who may have expressed interest in your product or service, but who have not expressly opted in or subscribed to your list. Email marketing to a cold list is often viewed as spam but there are instances where Cold List email marketing is acceptable and appropriate.
