Search Engine Optimization
Getting traffic to your website is the name of the game and we play to win!
First Things First
This is a crucial step that gets overlooked most of the time. Implementing SEO without a specific search engine optimization plan is like burning a fire with money to attract attention. It burns fast, it burns bright and it is out before it does any good. Part of our process is to help you generate a plan of attack where we can identify the most effective way to get traffic to your site. Most of the time, this is a combination of paid ads and tuning the site to be found at the top of search engines.
We will meet with you to find out your points of pain and to determine how we can best help you set and reach your seo goals. This doesn’t have to take a long time, but it is critical that we are both on the same page. Once this is complete, then we will create a custom plan and discuss it with you to perform any fine-tuning. Simply click the button below, give us some information and an expert will contact you. Search Engine Optimization
SEO comes in all different shapes and sizes. We do all the white hat SEO and leave the shady stuff that gets you in trouble to the other guys. Our services include everything from keyword tuning to PPC (pay per click) and like we said, our model is different that anyone else. The entire purpose of SEO is to drive traffic to your site. Once the visitor gets to the site, the purpose becomes converting them to leads, then prospects, then customers – see Landing Pages & Sales Funnels. That is a different process.
Back to SEO. Traffic to your site can be broken down into four categories – direct, referral, organic and paid.
- Direct traffic is when someone simply types your web address in the browser.
- Referral traffic comes from a backlink to your site from another site. More notes on backlinks below.
- Organic traffic is when someone searches a keyword topic in a search engine and your site comes up as a link.
- Paid traffic comes from ads you place online. Several favorites include Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc…
Traffic generated from direct and referral links is minimal so we won’t focus on these two. The one note we need to add is that backlinks are a great source of seo “link Juice” so they are important to obtain just because they increase your ranking in search engines. The one note we need to add is that if the referring site adds a “nofollow” tag to the link, then search engines won’t follow the link. This means search engines won’t associate your site with the referring site. While it is not bad to have this type of link, it won’t be of much help unless it drives a lot of traffic to you.
That leaves organic and paid traffic as the two categories we need to focus on.
This is still the elephant in the room when it comes to paid advertising. While they are expensive in comparison to other paid ad services, when we dial in the keywords and demographics correctly, their algorithms are really effective.
Other Paid Services
When cost is a concern or if we need traffic from non-traditional sources, then we have several other paid ad services we are able to use. Let us know what your needs are and we will put you in the right place.
Social Media Paid Ads
Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram are the most popular social media paid ad platforms. The problem? Most ad buyers don’t understand the targeted audience demographics so clients often don’t get matched with the right platform. We take care up front to understand what market you are after so you get placed where you will get the most results.
Private Ad Placements
Paid ad platforms are not always the most effective media platform to use. Often times for specific industries there are platforms where private ad placement can be tens to hundreds of times more effective than Google, Facebook and all the others. We will recommend niche placements where appropriate and you will see a much greater ROI than if you just used mainstream.
In your site, every page should have at least 1 and no more than 3 focused keywords. These tell search engines what the page is all about and where it should fit in the search engine. Multiple factors go into doing this the right way, but it is a really important aspect of being seen.
There is a balance between text and usability. This is why blog and article sections are so important. They offset the lack of contextualized content on a site’s main pages. Search engines like Google are smart enough to understand this contextual difference. We just want to help them out so we measure the amount of “focus” your website has when it comes to communicating what you or your organization does.
What Consumers Want
This part used to be pretty easy, but not so much anymore. Build it for the Boomers was a common theme since the primary share of market spending belonged to that age demographic. As of 2019, Boomers (55 to 75) spend $548.1 billion annually, Gen X (36 to 54) spend $357 billion, Millenials (25 to 35) currently spend about $322.5 billion annually.
Boomers win, right? VISA says they will continue to dominate overall spending for the next couple of years, but by 2025 Millenial spending will equal Boomer spending. The surprise winners are Gen X who currently spend 30% overall compared to 21% for Boomers and 19% for Millenials. In short, this means your site has to attract spending across 3 age demographics who communicate differently and that is not always an easy task, but we can help.
Website Structure & Speed
Right now there is nothing quite as important to search engines as site speed. Yes, the structure of your site needs to be correct to pick up all the elements search engines look for locally and social media sites tie into. These are critical and 9 times out of 10 are not implemented properly or completely. We will identify issues with your site and will fix any that we find, Most importantly, we will fine-tune your site to load quickly. This will weigh heavily in all search engine ranking profiles. Also included in this segment are 404’s and any other site errors or redirects that need to be corrected.
Link Building and Referral Sites
Our team will get started right away on reaching out to other sites associated with your industry or similar industries to begin building a link portfolio connecting back to your site. Most agencies downplay the amount of time or effort required to build a solid backlink program. In reality, backlinking to a significant number of sites can take a long time. First is the linking part and we make sure the link is a quality link that will benefit your site. Bad backlinks are worse than no backlinks. The amount of time it takes to establish the link and have Google pick it up can easily be 6 months or more. We will give you a report every step of the way.
Analytics & Reporting
This is a key part of the service we provide. If you do not measure your progress then you will never know if your program is effective. We measure, improve, measure, improve. That is how we make sure our efforts are moving you in the right direction.
